Building hope, healing teens, restoring families
MISSION To restore hope, love, honor and structure in the home through Christ-centered principles, counseling and prayer ministry.
VISION To heal, restore and reconcile teens and their families
Aaron's Hope, NC is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian home and school for troubled teen boys, ages 13-17, where teens can find hope and healing through academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual development while promoting family restoration through parental involvement.
On average, residents will stay at Aaron's Hope for 12-18 months, depending on their individual progress and initiative. Our teacher, house parents, counselor and staff work together to help each teen develop to their maximum potential as they work their way through the Biblical based program designed to correct negative behaviors and to heal fractured family relationships.
Our residential program is not available at this time, but we do offer free non-residential help!
The Aaron's Hope Program provides a structured, nurturing environment where teens can learn to accept responsibility, submit to authority, and get along with peers and adults. The program is based upon workable and successful solutions in restoring troubled teens and their families, resulting in these teens becoming solid citizens and effective, contributing members of society.
Teens attend school on site. Parents may enroll their teen in an online school of their choice or they have the option of using the Accelerated Christian Education program known as PACE. Upon arrival, students using the PACE curriculum are given a diagnostic test which determines an appropriate placement level for each course. Students are able to achieve according to their individual initiative and potential. In our program, if teens are academically behind because of truancy or lack of motivation, they have the opportunity to make up courses and improve their academic level.
Many troubled teen boys have emotional wounds from past hurts. Our goal is to get to the root of the negative behavioral issues. This is accomplished through weekly individual counseling and prayer ministry, including inner healing prayer, and strong spiritual guidance. Family counseling is also provided for teens and parents. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend the weekly "Home builder's Class" where we prepare parents for their teens return to their home. Teens also participate in weekly group meetings with other residents.
Once a teen and family have completed our Residential Program they will begin our one year After-Care program. It is not unusual for many teens to struggle as they readjust to life when they return home. Our After-Care program is focused on helping teens maintain the positive changes made while in the residential program. We walk alongside each teen and family helping them develop a college or career plan for life after high school, which helps to give them a sense of purpose. We also help teens develop relationships with positive influences in their communities, such as youth groups and other support systems, which help them achieve the plans they develop for themselves.
At times, raising teens feels like a tough climb up a huge mountain! If this is how you feel, we're here to be a resource to help you and your family. If you are looking for the kind of help we offer, we will climb that mountain with you! We pray the information viewed here will be valuable as you seek direction and hope for your family.
